To Meter Or Not To Meter
Water Meters
Hi folks, I’m Jon Mullen the Energy Evangelist. And today we’re looking at savings on your water resources. So where do we start? It has to be at the water meter, or rather the question is whether to have a water meter or not if you have that option.
Water meters can cause arguments! The only way to verify if it is better to have a meter or pay water rates is by working out the calculations. Water rates are calculated by your local council rateable value and the rateable value is calculated on the area of your business premises. When we work on the calculations this will assess your business usage of incoming water, waste services, the number and type of employees and how you use water within your business both now and taking into account what you are planning for the future. Once this has been completed it is an easy comparison and we will need to include installation costs in the calculations as well.
So to have or not to have a water meter should never get to an argument. It’s a straight calculation.
